Strategic Vendor Consultant
Location: Topeka KS, or Olathe, KS
This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Kansas Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.
The Strategic Vendor Consultant is responsible for managing relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and key decision makers in order to meet or exceed business goals. Acts as single point of accountability for internal and/or external business partners.
How you will make an impact:
- Develops communication documents and training criteria related to external client facing program success measures.
- Manages the execution of vendor agreements to ensure compliance, monitor quality, and develop corrective action plans.
- Responsible for managing the overall vendor performance per contractual service level agreements (SLA) and ensures vendor conformity to enterprise standards, operational processes and management guidelines to ensure business goals and budget are achieved for an enterprise function.
- Participates in cross-functional teams to implement vendor services.
- Drives continuous improvement activities and implementations across functional areas.
- Recommends and implements vendor parameters regarding vendor production and quality in support of business objectives.
- Provides SME support in constructing performance-based, accountability-driven vendor/business partner agreements, statements of work and action plans and procedures as needed.
- Facilitates the planning and implementation of the transition of new work items assigned to the vendor in support of strategic goals and budget.
- Reviews, reconciles and pays vendor invoices.
- Works with business representatives to assure that all aspects of implementation run smoothly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a BA/BS degree in business or related field required; 3-5 years of increasingly responsible professional level contract management/vendor management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Understanding of and experience with Medicare/Medicaid, state and/or federal regulatory requirements strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and draw up plans to address issues/concerns strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational, planning, presentation, consultative and interpersonal communication skills strongly preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including window-based applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, & Access).
- Experience with word intake management tools (Ariba or similar), and/or spend management tools (Domo or similar).
