By the Numbers: Why Health Equity Matters
Health Equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible, regardless of race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and geographic or financial access. Knowing where inequities exist — and how specific barriers contribute to them — gives the healthcare system the tools to help remove those obstacles, improve access, and advance health equity.
We know that one way to start addressing these inequities is to change the healthcare system from within, addressing the physical, behavioral, and social drivers that contribute to individual whole health. Health companies and community partners can work together toward that goal.
